Kapolresta Ambon Island and Lease Islands Kombes Pol Driyono Andri Ibrahim revealed, clashes between the two groups of residents was triggered by binge drinking and illegal racing action. “The clashes were triggered by alcohol and illegal racing by youth groups,” Andri told reporters on Sunday.

He explained, binge drinking and illegal racing action that resulted in friction between the two groups involved in the clash.
